Military Pay Dates 2027
Quick answer
Active-duty paydays are the 1st and 15th of each month. When either falls on a weekend or federal holiday, DFAS pays on the business day before. In 2027 that puts three paydays in April, July and December and one in January, May and August.

When are military paydays in 2027?
“End of month” is the payday due on the 1st of the next month. A moved date shows the day it was due.

* Jan 1, 2028 is a Saturday. The Federal Reserve Banks are open on Friday, Dec 31, 2027 and DFAS pays military retirees that day, so we expect active-duty pay then too. Social Security treats Dec 31 as a holiday and pays SSI on Dec 30, so we’ll confirm this date as soon as DFAS publishes its 2027 table.
Which months have three paydays in 2027?
April, July and December. In each one the end-of-month payday comes back into the same month: April 1, 15 and 30; July 1, 15 and 30; December 1, 15 and 31.
Why do some months have only one payday?
A payday that moves early leaves the next month short. The payday due Jan 1, 2027 arrives Thu, Dec 31, 2026, so January has one. May’s first payday arrives at the end of April; August’s first payday arrives at the end of July.
Can I get paid early?
Some banks and credit unions release military direct deposits a day or two before payday. That depends on your bank, not DFAS, so budget around the dates above.
