BAH 2027 Rates
Quick answer
The Defense Department hasn’t released 2027 BAH rates yet. The last three releases came on Dec 14, 2023, Dec 13, 2024 and Dec 11, 2025, so expect 2027 rates in mid-December 2026, effective January 1, 2027. We’ll add them to the calculator and this page the day they’re published.

Will my BAH go down in 2027?
Not while you stay at the same location. DoD’s individual rate protection means a member “who maintains uninterrupted basic allowance for housing eligibility at a given location will not see a rate decrease.” A move (PCS), a lower pay grade or a change in dependents can reset it.
What will we publish on release day?
- 2027 rates in the BAH calculator, side by side with 2026 for your ZIP and grade.
- The biggest increases and decreases by housing area, and the average change.
- Updated duty-station pages.
Does 2027 BAH change GI Bill housing?
Not right away. VA uses the 2026 BAH rates for GI Bill housing payments from August 1, 2026 to July 31, 2027. See GI Bill housing allowance.
