Why does a three-paycheck month happen?
Two weeks is 14 days, and every month but February is longer than 28 days, so the paydays slowly drift earlier in each month until one month fits three. A holiday that moves a payday earlier can push it into the month before, which is why the count is by the day you’re actually paid.
